When deciding what's for dinner on weeknights, I try to come up with options that are both flavorful and somewhat "healthy". I aim to have meals planned that I know Mike and I will both enjoy but cut corners (calories) when and where I can. This means decisions like swapping Pub Burgers for Turkey Burgers or Homemade Russet Potato Fries or Broccoli Rice for boxed Mac-N-Cheese.
One of our absolute favorites is Jalapeno Turkey Burger night. We typically have this at least once a month and have it for two nights in a row when we do. I always find that when you buy buns, it's hard to eat them all when cooking for two. So in order to avoid wasting precious carbs, we pair Turkey Burgers with some other Fun on a Bun for the week.
For these Spicy Burgs, you can swap out any of the toppings in my recipe below to meet your needs, but we have found that the best combination for us is to use Jalapeno, Tomato, Onion, Avocado, Cilantro and Romaine. We ALWAYS drizzle the Hidden Valley Southwest Chipotle Ranch over the top as it pairs perfectly with the heat of the Jalapenos.

I am giving these an LP Wellness Rating of 7. I am a huge fan of swapping in Turkey for Beef, and these pack enough flavor that you can skip adding Cheese as well! If you feel up to the challenge, try to make your own Burger patties, too! We are big fans of the Jennie-O brand, and it's typically easier and quicker for us to buy the already frozen patties for this dinner. If you give these a try, they are sure to knock your socks off! Let me know how it goes if you give them a go.
